In partnership with White City Living (Berkeley Group), the JCA Gallery operated as a retailstore for a five-week period, offering students a unique opportunity to showcase and sell theirdesigns in a commercial setting. This initiative allowed emerging designers to gain firsthandretail experience, engage with customers, and build their brand presence.Beyond the physical gallery, JCA has established a permanent online platform, enablingstudents to sell their collections and gain industry exposure beyond the gallery store, ensuringcontinued opportunities for growth and visibility.
• Industry & Press Events: The gallery hosted exclusive press events, includingWomenswear Press, Gallery Collection Press, and Menswear Press, offering designersa high-profile platform to gain media exposure.
• Community Engagement: As part of our commitment to fostering future talent, weinvited a local school for a Q&A session with Professor Jimmy Choo, inspiring thenext generation of creatives and strengthening the connection between education andthe fashion industry.
• Reflections Fashion Show: In collaboration with Berkeley Group, the gallery hosted"Reflections," a fashion show that immersed guests in both a retail and runwayexperience, spotlighting emerging talent.
• Panel Talks & Discussions: The space also served as a hub for industryconversations, hosting panel discussions where designers could engage with expertson topics ranging from fashion business strategy to creative innovation..
The JCA Retail Gallery Store is the first-of-its-kind student-led retail space that functions asboth an exhibition and a pop-up store. Developed in collaboration with the Berkeley Group / St James, This project differentiates JCA from other institutions by providing designers--regardless of their year of study--a hands-on, immersive introduction to the complexities of entering the marketplace.
Through this initiative, students experience the entire journey of launching a fashion brand,from concept development to execution. They gain firsthand insights into building customerrelationships, navigating commercial retail spaces, and engaging in brand storytelling.Graduates of JCA are also eligible to participate in the Retail Gallery Store and e-commercesite, reinforcing the academy’s mission to support designers both during and after their studies.
